BECOLD, A CASE STUDY OF INNOVATION

Innobasque has published our BeCold project in the Bank of Practical Innovation Cases.

As is well known, coolant and cutting oil are two elements widely used in machining. These components also generate higher costs and have a negative impact on the environment, which is why it is essential to explore greener alternatives.

The main challenge is the adoption of an alternative lubrication and cooling system by the industry itself.

Why is BeCold a POTENTIAL case study in innovation?

Because it is a pioneering and unique solution in the market, an alternative lubrication and cooling system based on CO2 cryogenic gas.

Due to the high competitiveness present in the industrial field, the reduction of production costs and the use of technologies with a low environmental impact are essential for the development of new applications.

Do you want to know more about the case? You can see the case study here: https://mapa.innobasque.eus/casos-practicos/hre-hidraulic-sl_becold-sistema-de-lubricacion-y-refrigeracion-criogenica-en-procesos-de-mecanizado

BECOLD IN THE MAGAZINE “INDUSTRIA METALMECÁNICA” OF INTEREMPRESAS.

Interempresas has published an article about BeCold in the magazine “Industria Metalmecánica”. This system was developed by HRE Automation for the industrial environment in collaboration with the University of the Basque Country and Tecnalia. The work carried out has allowed the development of the BeCold technology that can use Co2 as a cutting fluid in combination with biodegradable oil particles such as CryoMQL.

Cryogenic refrigeration is an alternative way to the use of coolants as a cutting fluid that aims to achieve environmentally sustainable machining processes without affecting the competitiveness of the process.

Here is an extract so you can have a look at it:

“In these 10 years, the tests and advances with cryogenic cooling have been many and diverse with what step by step has been consolidating a technology capable of responding to various situations in order to integrate it into industrial environments, but how was this path?”

We are very grateful to Interempresas for giving visibility to this project which has taken so much effort and enthusiasm. After all these years, we have managed to launch a more sustainable alternative on the market which does not affect the machining processes.

EMPRESA XXI, AN INTERVIEW WITH HRE, IS COMMITTED TO R+D+I AND ITS OWN PRODUCT TO CONTINUE GROWING.

Empresa XXI” has published an interview about HRE. It highlights our commitment to R+D+i and our own products. We talk about HRE 2030 and our new developments such as Manex 4.0 and BeCold.

In this interview we put forward our plan for 2030, in which we plan to double our turnover and diversify into the international market. This will be done with our own products, with the aim of further growth.

Below is an extract from this interview to take a look at:

“HRE Hidraulic, specialising in automation and control engineering projects for oleo-hydraulic, servo-hydraulic and lubrication systems, is celebrating its 40th anniversary and plans to create an internal R+D+i business unit on which it will rely to develop its own products and services with which it can diversify and continue to grow, fundamentally in the international arena.

As confirmed to “Empresa XXI” by its manager, Esther Velasco, the company’s plan is to carry out the generational handover of the partners in an organised way and practically double its turnover by 2030, to reach 8 million euros. Its current business line of marketing third-party products (it distributes industrial fluid equipment of international brands in the Iberian Peninsula) will increase its sales by 33 percent in this period, although its weight in total turnover will drop to 30 percent. ”

In this article you will find a bit of our history, we talk about the project with which we have presented ourselves to Basque Digital Innovation Hub (BDIH) – Konexio 2021 and we advance you some surprises that are coming soon.

Below is an extract from this article :

“The company from Elgoibar, specialising in industrial fluid engineering projects, has received support from the BDIH Konexio programme . HRE Hidraulic is a curious case in an industrial company: around 30% of its business comes from its didactic and training unit aimed at both training centres and companies. “We want our knowledge acquired in industry to be transmitted to society and also to form part of our business,” explain Esther Velasco and José Ángel Alberdi, manager and director of the Industry business unit, respectively.

This company has received financial support from the SPRI Group through the BDIH Konexio programme. The Basque Digital Innovation Hub is making the connected network of advanced manufacturing assets and services available to SMEs for training, research, testing and validation.

The company, located in Elgoibar, specialises in engineering projects in the field of industrial fluids and covers a multitude of sectors, from machine tools, automotive, assembly machinery, aluminium injection machinery, paper mills and the iron and steel industry to aeronautics, railways, oil&gas, and even aquariums (with water hydraulics), “and we are also diversifying into the marine sector”.

WORLD ENERGY SAVING DAY 2021

25/10/20210

Another year, we could not miss the World Energy Saving Day, which was celebrated on 21 October 2021.

You know that HRE is committed to sustainability and the environment.

With our Energy Saving Systems Energy Saving Engineering Solutions –  we can minimise the carbon footprint and reduce electricity consumption which, given the economic climate and prices, has become a critical element in production processes.

Our customers can achieve reductions of between 35% and 50% and these percentages are supported by the data:

  • Since 2016 we have managed to save our customers a total of 3,588,000 KW/h
  • 1,665 Tn of CO2 no longer emitted into the atmosphere.
  • 1,665 Tn of CO2 not emitted is equivalent to having planted almost 10,000 trees (that would be the amount needed to absorb the CO2 saved).
  • In 1 hectare there are 200 trees, which saves us 50 hectares, approx. 100 football fields.
