Since 2015, SKF has reduced its manufacturing carbon footprint by 36% and already operates two carbon-neutral factories. The 2030 target will encompass SKF’s manufacturing operations. This will be achieved by combining process improvements, energy-efficient machinery, and renewable energy procurement and generation.
World Energy Saving Day was celebrated on 21 October 2020. Many small actions can improve our planet, such as: turning off lights that are not used, taking advantage of natural light, using energy saving light bulbs, unplugging chargers, recycling etc.
At HRE since 2016, we have been committed to solutions for reducing electricity consumption and minimising the CO2 footprint. These Energy Saving Systems in Machinery, primarily aimed at Injection Moulding Machines, Extrusion Machines, Presses and Large Installations with a lot of installed power, have enabled our clients to reduce consumption by 35% to 50%, and even more in some cases.
We have achieved a total saving of 2,872,000 kW/h. This translates into:
1 hectare is enough for 200 trees, which saves 22.2 hectares, approx. 40 football pitches. Impressive, isn’t it?

We took part as speakers at the conference organised on 15/10/2020 by DEBEGESA Agencia de Desarrollo de Debabarrena / Debabarreneko Garapen Agentzia on “Digitalisation and Industry 4.0”.
We have been working since 1999 with the German multinational Willy Vogel AG, entirely focused on Centralised Greasing Systems for Machine Tools, industrial machinery, and the Mobile sector. In 2007, SKF bought WILLY VOGEL and became part of the Group in every way. HRE Hidraulic has continued to work with this Group on different systems and projects. After 21 years, during which they have fully trusted us as a distributor and their clients have trusted SKF, the time has come to reward the excellent work done.
HRE Hidraulic has participated in the IND-SERVDES II project in which we have launched the MANEX 4.0 service with the help of Mondragon Unibertsitatea. The project aims to develop an added value service for our clients, which we have called MANEX 4.0, to help our industrial clients control their processes, guaranteeing their reliability and machine availability.
In this case, with the SKF Lubrication Division obtaining approval to carry out interventions on new products without voiding the manufacturer’s warranty.
Today I am pleased to share with you the fact that SPRI has published an article entitled “HRE Hidraulic drives cryogenics in the machining world with Be Cold”.
HRE Hidraulic, as a partner of Innobasque involved in innovation, is part of the new Contrast Group, whose objective is to test the various activities, processes, and projects currently being worked on and those that are planned.
We have presented the new MQL+Crio tool cooling equipment for dry machining of extreme materials – due to their conditions of hardness, machinability, etc. It is the first time the equipment is presented to the market.
